Welcome to the nettle patch! Here you will find a mix of prickliness and peace, a little piece of wilderness where I can (try to learn to) let things be what they are.
The title is a tribute to the many things I instantly dislike and later learn to love, like the poetry of Edward Thomas:
This corner of the garden I like most
As much as any bloom upon a flower
I like the bloom upon the nettle, never touched
Except to prove the sweetness of a shower.
I’ve tried to keep this blog before, and I might end up writing another introduction in the future – part explanation, part exposition. Why? Embarrassment, I guess, at the urge to share, which has always been behind my urge to write.
World is crazier, and more of it than we think.
This is somewhere to write anything and everything.
